Patrick J Fitzegarld could he indict before October?
I understands he has until October, but is it possible that he could hand out indictments before October?

Also is it possible that someone higher up than Rove, could be indicted? (you know, who Im talking about)

The lack of media reports on this story is a worry though.

1. I think the lack of media is a plus. Fitz is
keeping EVERYTHING close to the vest. And I'm hoping the whole cabal might be implicated.

2. The Grand Jury can indict whenever they
consider their investigation finished. They can turn them in now, or even after the time runs out because they can ask for an extension.

4. Don't worry about the lack of media reports.
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 08:44 PM by evlbstrd
Fitzgerald is known for keeping a tight lid on his investigations till he's damn good and ready to announce anything.
And, from what little I understand, he can hand down an indictment or five whenever he feels he has enough to build a case.
Once he breaks it out, you will see an intense media frenzy. Some of it good, some of it bought and paid for.

8. Better than when Ken Starr's investigation was filled with leaks!
If Fitzgerald engaged in that, all the work he's been doing would get overruled on appeal if he didn't follow procedures correctly, unlike the kangaroo court that tried to sack Clinton.

9. I would rather read the Fitzgerald Report
than the porn that Starr published.

11. What a contrast!
Ken Starr: a sleazy, leaker, cheap tabloid-headline partisan hack.

Fitgerald: American hero.

6. Potentially a timing issue with Sibel Edmond's Supremes case
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 08:47 PM by calipendence
The Supremes should decide by mid-October whether or not they will hear her case, and if they do, then it will determine if the "states secret" gag order the way the cabal has been using it in many cases now is constitutional or not. Depending on whether they hear her case or not might dictate how he proceeds I think.

If they rule against her, perhaps he'll make an effort to get her to testify in his case. Not sure how much they can bring in State's Secret act to gag grand jury testimony before him.

10. BUT - will they indict in the midst
of full scale terrorist alarms ala dirty bomb etc.? Which you know will be coming down at the same time - or even a smaller scale LIHOP? Or perhaps a jaunt into Syria or Iran??

Rove etc. probably busy trying to buy /intimidate grand jurors right now - and the administration already got Comey (the guy Fitzgerad reports to in the AG) to take another position in the private sector leaving the "chain of command" for Fityzgerald a bit muddled. Throwing roadblocks at Fitzgerald every way they can.

And this is for TREASON.....

12. He probably will wait until the last possible moment if
he indicts. His profile suggests that he can't be bribed or threatened, however, we don't know who might have gotten to him. So I get the impression that he has to wait until the last possible moment if he does, because it's probably a smart move on his part.

16. sorry for all the questions but
Is it the start of October or the end of October that the investigation ends?, and when would he have to ask for an extension if he needs one.

17. My understanding was that he could do it during October.
So the media is guessing. I can't answer because he is really keeping this close to his vest. I'm not saying you aren't right that it has to be before October. Nobody checks facts anymore and I'm not a journalist. Go ask them.

14. He will take every day of it if he wanta Judith Miller's testimoney
If they indict earlier that is Judith Miller's get out of jail free card. I am sure he is trying to prove the case without her but even if he now has that proof he would be much better off sealing his case with her testimony so I doubt he will do something that would let her out early.

19. I Don't Think That's How It Works
I believe her get out of jail free card is to testify before the Grand Jury. If the Grand Jury completes it work and adjourns she will remain in jail and have to complete her sentence - with no way out.

18. Lack of media reports indicates that they have nothing to report because
there are no leaks which IMO is a good thing. I am waiting with bated breath for the results though.
