Hume and Olbermann on Pat Robertson

Televangelist Pat Robertson on Wednesday charged that the media had "misinterpreted" his televised remarks about Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Appearing on his 700 Club show, which airs on Disney's ABC Family channel, Robertson denied that he had called for Chavez's assassination. "I said our special forces could take him out," Robertson said. "'Take him out' could be a number of things including kidnapping. There are a number of ways of taking out a dictator from power besides killing him. I was misinterpreted." However, a transcript of Robertson's earlier remarks indicates that he had used no such language. "If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war," he had declared.

On his Fox News television show Wednesday, anchor Brit Hume took rival news channel CNN to task for prominently featuring Robertson's remarks, insisting that Robertson's influence had dwindled and that "he may have no clout with the Bush administration." However, at least one blog listed 10 live guest appearances by Robertson on Fox News programs during the past 10 months, a figure that was also mentioned by MSNBC personality Keith Olbermann Wednesday night when he featured Hume as his daily "worst person in the world."

1. Let the infighting continue....
with any luck at all, they'll destroy each other.

BTW: thanks, Pat for clearing that up. I "misinterpreted" it the first time I heard it. :eyes:

2. Jon Stewart showed him on with Scarborough and the date was 8-15-05, about
a week ago, with Scarborough saying it is always good to have you back Mr. Robertson.

It seems that along with Pat Robertson and his denials one day after millions had seen him, these goons forget that they have been videotaped for all posterity.

"Videotape". Where would we be without it? Thank God for tape recordings, too. We get to listen over and over again, to Pat Liarson's homicidal plans. No ambiguity there!!!

Regardless of his post-mortem corrections. He knew what he meant. He was pissed.

Chavez went and gave an oil contract to China. That's what all this is about (see LBN: Chavez gives oil contract to China). Washington must be going crazy right now. They're probably weighing their options, as we speak. Kill? Assassinate? Bring in troops? Whip up an insurgency?

The mystery is solved.
