Have I been through one too many hurricanes? I am sitting here
watching Katrina on the Weather Channel. I had the same problem with the news people with Arlene. These guys sound like babbling idiots. They act like they have never seen a hurricane before. They are just getting me. Why can't they just report what's going on and not go through the little boy gets to play with the hurricane routine.

2. I'm with you. The going outside routine is so idiotic and puts those
people in needless jeopardy. They whip up so much hysteria. I could go on but I am disgusted.

3. I SO agree; it is boring, unless it's a big'un.
Now Andrew made me go :wow: but that was a lot of years ago. Last year sucked for Floridians, and I will surely feel for them if it hits the FL panhandle again, though I know people got pretty washed out because of last summer.

4. Fear. It keeps folks tuned in.
That, and the possibility of blood, guts and gore (or at least the vidbytes of someone else losing a home). Tragedy sells, and they've got a 2fer1 sale going every hurricane season.

6. I never pay attention to their crap.
Its more for the folks who dont have to deal with it. Those of us who live here pretty much know what to do.

7. The local stations have taken to giving flashing, beeping, on-air
warnings for ordinary thunderstorms. Loathesome idiots.

8. Oh, the drama!
Yeah, the WC is great if you're into fearing the worst. They must have huge stocks in Tums or something. I avoid the hype by checking the National Hurricane Center for its regular, unfluffified updates and forecast tracks.

9. I saw the latest track & came onshore at Ft. Lauderdale & turned south
Thank goodness this is only a category 1 storm. It's really going to suck the longer it sits over Miami-Dade & rains. Forget going to the Keys this weekend.
