Nightline: Investigator asked detainee who he voted for in last election
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 10:43 PM by Bluebear
Part two of Cyrus Kar's perfect nightmare. An Iranian-American documentary filmaker and U.S. Navy veteran, he was arrested in Iraq and held for nearly two months before officials determined he was not part of an insurgent plot.

"I understood what a political prisoner felt like. I told him I voted for John Kerry, but I immediately clarified that I voted for Kerry for his domestic policy, which was true...."

Video: An American prison in Iraq as described by an American.

3. I am watching this right now,
and am absolutely appalled (but not surprised), by the way this poor man was treated. I'll bet there are a LOT of others, who have experienced the same treatment, but haven't been able to come forward and share about it, or haven't had the exposure to do so. Its a sorry state we are in.
