yes, I know that there is no reason not to describe him as idiot, but don't remember seeing this phrase - Idiot Son - before

6. Even referenced in the Broadway Musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
For those familiar with the 1989 Michael Caine / Steve Martin movie, there's a number in the musical about Ruprecht!

Lawrence (the Michael Caine character) is singing about the little embarassing problem that plagues all royal families: inbreeding.

"It really can be such a
Nasty stain on the escutcheon
When a wisp of DNA
Begins to fray, then goes astray.
Caligula had the tempre,
The Hapburgs had the chin.
George the Third went cuckoo-bird
And Nero had that violin-

Richard, you'll remember,
Had the himp and
The withered limb.

The Bushes of Tex
Were nervous wrecks
Because their son was dim,
But look what happened to him."

7. I prefer the term (and song) 'Fortunate Son'.
Some folks are born
made to wave the flag,
Ooh, they're red, whit and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief",
they point the cannon right at you.

It ain't me,it ain't me.
I ain't no senator's son.
It ain't me,it ain't me.
I ain't no fortunate one.

Some folks are born
silver spoon in hand,
Lord don't they help themselves.
But when the tax man comes to the door,
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale.

It ain't me, it ain't me.
I ain't no millionaire's son.
It ain't me, it ain't me.
I ain't no fortunate one.

Some folks inherit
star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war.
And when you ask them,
"How much should we give?"
They only answer "More! More! More!"

It ain't me,it ain't me.
I ain't no military son.
It ain't me,it ain't me.
I ain't no fortunate one.

It ain't me,it ain't me.
I ain't no Fortunate Son.

9. I think Bush is an amalgam of both songs ...
Unfortunately for us, being both a fortunate son and an idiot son has been lethal for the U.S.
