Just watched last night's Daily Show again. Hitchins was DEFINITELY high!

There is no way that Christopher Hitchins wasn't wasted off his ass on something.

Even Rush Limbaugh was more coherent on Oxycontin.

Maybe he was awake all night with anxiety over appearing on the show.

Maybe he's getting chemotherapy, and he's wiped-out by that.

Whatever it was, something was wrong with the guy.

He's so arrogant and full of himself that i sometimes wonder if he's really just self loathing and trying to cover it up.

2. I think he was just stunned that a comedian

on basic cable was as smart and articulate as he, and that Jon was able to have an intelligent discussion with His Royal Drunkness right there on the TV.

That he didn't understand WHY some jokes were made about * was interesting too. It's like we have some kind of pseudo-generation gap thing going on but it has to do with mindset rather than age now. Smart people using the same words, debating the same issue, but speaking completely different languages. It's freaky, to me anyway.

on edit: He did seem a touch tipsy on top of it too.
