"And ye shall know them by their fruit."
I don't give scripture and verse but seek this passage out in the Bible (NT) and then ask yourself "Who really is a Christian (a follower of Christ)? Then think about the "fruit" of some well known evangelicals and politicians and Presidents.

I already know Bushco by their fruit. A little further in that same Chapeter it says "Not everyone who says 'Lord' 'Lord' to me will enter the kingdom of heaven,..."

Pat and Jerry had better examine themselves.

I also use another one that bothers them to no end...

And in the end of days, he will call other peoples to the kingodom of God.

4. interesting note to your second refrence-
Jesus calls out a group of people and says "Come to me" and those people are blown away, because, they never claimed to even follow him- and even asked, "when did we do this?" and he says whatever you do to the least of these- which INCLUDES saddam, obl, tammy faye, the 'worst of the worst'- you did unto ME-

that scares them.
and shuts them up.

In truth, if everyone acted like Jesus says, there WOULD be heaven on earth.

9. You are correct. The "Kingdom" is supposed to be here on earth
but then it will never come until Christ comes back and since the way he comes back is thru us ("the kindom is within")it will likely not happen since few if any of us emulate Christ.

5. The whole point of Matthew 25,
and the oft-repeated them found throughout the gospels, "the first shall be last and the last shall be first," is that in the kingdom to come there will be a lot of surprises. Those who will be welcomed and those who will be turned away will be nothing like the guest-lists that most of us would expect. Should be interesting to see the look on Pat's and Jerry's face when God finally gets to shout: "Surprise!!!"

10. I think God will weep
even for Falwell and Robertson.

One of my favorite references to God is found, not in the Bible, but in the Talmud. After Moses and the Israelites escape from Egypt through the sea, there is rejoicing in Heaven, but God weeps. The angels ask, "how can you weep, when your children the Israelites are saved?" and God answers, "how can I not weep, when my children the Egyptians are drowning?"

Peace.

15. Beautiful. I'm sure that God is weeping now,
and I imagine will continue to shed some tears as long as any God's children, especially those who claim to know better, continue to do such things.

6. Here's another they hate:
"Faith without works is dead." I.e., if you aren't bearing good fruit, you're fooling yourself by thinking you're a Christian.

It flies in the faith of the more popular fundamentalist philosophy that "salvation is by faith alone, not by works, that none should boast." They've twisted this to mean that you don't have to manifest any works in your life to be saved.
