Question about a "new" Progressive radio network
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 12:11 PM by BeachBuckeye
What would you have to say about a new Progressive network with the following lineup:
All Eastern Standard Time

6-9am Bill Press
9-noon Stephanie Miller
noon-3 Thom Hartmann
3-7pm Guy James
7-10pm Ed Schultz
10 1am Mike Malloy or Alan Colmes
1-4am Peter Werbe
4-6am Doug Stephan

I'd like to know your take on this group. Now, be nice:)

2. Peter Werbe 1am-4am
It'd be a great spot for him.

Wouldn't Doug Stephan be better in the 6am-9am slot?

I don't care for Alan Colmes at all but Mike Malloy is perfect.

Is this something that is likely to happen?

3. Hmmm
It would be good, but it wouldn't take me away from AAR. I'd love it if that meant Randi would be live on my AAR radio station so I could listen to her live in my backyard.

9. dont compete with AAR
dont we waste enough energy/money?

dont we have limited strength?

it is a good lineup as long as we dont get into stupid turf battles like some unions do.

14. So AAR is there and everyone else should be quiet?
Any energy expended getting out our message is not wasted.

20. I'd say let the market decide...
:) Competition would be good for liberal radio...So I tend to agree with the idea...

6. I'd like that lineup.
Aren't Stephanie Miller and Ed Schultz "Jones radio network"programs?

I kinda like the mix of AAR and Jones Radio Network shows that we get on our "progressive talk radio station" here in Chapel Hill,NC.

9am-12pm- Stephanie Miller (Jones)
12-3pm- Al Franken (AAR)
3-6- Ed Schultz (Jones)
6-8- local talk/sports/other (local)
8-10- Majority Report (AAR)
10-11- repeat of local talk/other
11-1am- Mike Malloy (I think- not sure about start/ending times here) (AAR)

Young Turks Show instead...

I'm in the minority on DU, but Malloy is nuts.

and get it in the St. Louis market! please?!?!?!?

To hell w/ Colmes.

Why is Malloy on your list? Is he leaving AAR?

24. Mike Malloy or Alan Colmes?
How did Colmes get in there?

I've heard that Guy James fella is a DAMN FINE talk show host, so I support HIS being on the list...

...and Press had an excellent but sadly overlooked book (mainly because it came out late in the election year):

Bush Must Go: The Top Ten Reasons Why George Bush Doesn't Deserve a Second Term

So, Guy, this sounds like a pretty solid roster for you to be a part of. I just take exception to Colmes' willingness to line up for his nightly beating from Sean Hannity (and yeah, you asked us to be nice, so I'll leave it at that).

:toast:
