The White House is Feeling the Heat!!! |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 01:54 PM by smartvoter
Cindy Sheehan keeps pounding the fact that Bush is on a five week vacation. This has finally seeped into the public at large and attention is being given to how much vacation time this guy has taken -- I have seen it on TV and heard it on the radio.
The WH started damage control, trying to rewrite the vacation as working from Crawford primarily because of West Wing renovations. (Caught it today on the radio.)
Won't fly, of course, because he does this every year, and we can expect Bush apologists to run with it, but the important thing is it shows that the heat is on.

2. This has happened before |

Remember when he gave up sweets to try to shorten his running time? He said that himself. Later, the White House tried to say that he gave up sweets as a sacrifice for the sake of the troops.

8. Wayll, heh, ya know, the troops need sugar more then I do, see... |

...over there in the streets of...of... the middle east, see. Where the action is. Because if we don't fight them there, we'll be fighting them here, see. It's about morale. It's about honoring the fallen and what they stand for. It's about personal sacrifice and commitment to ... to ... Freedom. Freedom is on the March! We gotta support the troops.
Doncha know that?

9. There was a segment on ABC's Good Morning America |
|
They said he's spent 342 days at Crawford and then listed the percentage of his presidency and other stats. And something about something being more than Reagan? I didn't catch that part. Also had some Bush loving conservative ("he is so easy to get to know") and Rachel Maddow? (I am having memory loss I think) discussing the vacations. It was humorous because it wasn't a Bush-loving segment at all but done in the light-hearted way of morning shows. The dumb conservative kept saying "it's a working vacation!"

15. I found this factoid from a previous post: |
|
Until now, probably no modern president was a more famous vacationer than Ronald Reagan, who loved spending time at his ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif. According to an Associated Press count, Reagan spent all or part of 335 days in Santa Barbara over his eight-year presidency -- a total that Bush will surpass this month in Crawford with 3 1/2 years left in his second term.
pResident AWOL indeed...

on Good Morning America. I thought it had something to do with Reagan and a ranch.
