It manages to get into some part of these cornucopia-shaped projections. I don't wish the 'cane to hit anywhere, but N.O. cannot withstand a cat 4!

Ivan, Dennis - and now this.

At least all the vulnerable trees and vegetation have been stripped and blown down by the previous storms.

I'm making my decision to evacuate tommorow...and it sucks.

and their direction....

If this thing grows to Category 3, then the upper level winds will become the major steering force..

here:

Looks like a lot of west-to-east wind at the 500MB level...could push Katrina more eastward??????

Best Case: It turns N, keeps going and hits the panhandle as a cat 3

Worst case:It stalls out, gains in strength (cat4/5) wobbles W and hits between MS and south TX.
