McCain now a Pat Robertson Republican - endorses anti-gay amendment AND
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 03:53 PM by blm
Intelligent Design.

How pathetic he has become.

http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/08/082605mcCain.htm

another friend of the Log Cabinites bites the dust!

Despite his reputation as a liberal Republican, Sen. John McCain has announced his support for an amendment to the Arizona Constitution to ban same-sex marriage and civil unions.
McCain last year voted against amending the US Constitution, but in a statement released late Thursday McCain said that the state amendment "would allow the people of Arizona to decide on the definition of marriage."

A spokesperson for McCain said the senator released the statement after a meeting with backers of the amendment who asked for his formal support.

11. Kick! McCain is a POS, he just wants to be our next fascist
corporatist President.

Fuck him, I should hope the DUers are smart enough to call him out.

2. looks like he's running in '08
it's a good thing, really, that he's saying these things. It should help clear things up for those who still think he's some kind of moderate...

4. I used to respect him, but that's long been flushed down the crapper....

For me, it was his allowing * to hug him during the campaign -- the * team really savaged McCain in the 2000 primaries, calling him mentally unbalanced from being a POW, etc.

Fast-forward to 2004, and McCain is **such** a good foot-soldier that he allows his tormentor to literally embrace him. What's to respect in that?

And now, for good measure, McCain is turning his back on a significant number of Americans by his support for the exclusivity of same-sex marriage.

My older brother is gay, so I have a familial interest in GLBT issues, and what they do to my brother, they do to me.

:grr: So-called "maverick" Senator McCain, you're pitiful. :grr:

5. I was always kinda "on the fence" about McCain....
And I just fell off and hit hard!

Not only are these latest moves OBVIOUSLY just some political pandering,
they are STUPID political pandering.

Whatever office he's greasing up to run for must not be national!

Stick a fork in him- he's DONE.

the Republican party and most importantly Bush after all the "black child" rumors.

14. absolutely
I respect McCain for his incredible honor during his confinement in Vietnam. But, after being slimed by Rove/Bush he did nothing. He really should have stood up to that garbage. Now it looks like he wants in to the inner circle.

17. That was definitely the turning point.
I understand that his own kids HATE Bush with a passion, and he still stood by the dictatortot's side.

Methinks they have photos of a drugged McCain naked in bed with Jeff Gannon.

12. I really dislike that mofo
I cannot understand his popularity here in AZ. I began to really distrust him when he slobbered all over the blivet before the last "election," but this, this seals his fate in my book.
