1. Don't think she has
The forced of evil are claiming she said that her son died for Israel, but it's bogus. I can't find a link to prove she didn't say something. Only links to what she did say.

3. What I've heard is that the "he died for Israel" stuff is bogus,
but she did call for "Israel out of Palestine."

19. Another divisive, obfuscating, BS attack on a pure-hearted American.
None of these "Did she say something about Israel" threads pass muster with me anymore. Those "suggestions" are merely distractions and imprints having nothing to do with the issue at hand. It pisses me off, quite frankly.

22. Well excuse me...
So sorry if my thread didn't pass muster with you. I needed some quick information on the subject, because our Dem club received an email from someone in our community today stating the following:

I have been an active Democrat for as long as I can remember. I worked for RFK in 1968. I made phone calls for Kerry in 2004. I have voted in every election since 1968, and I don't remember ever voting for a single Repulican. I am an ardent supporter of Israel, the Middle East's only democracy. Sheehan attacks Israel.
If the Democrats don't support Israel, I will no longer support the Democrats. I would very much like to hear a sincere response.

I know the people here are well informed on the latest, especially debunking RW talking points. Color me lazy, because yes, I came here to see if I could get some quick links and answers, rather than spend hours combing through google hits, and endless pages on Truthout. We're rather busy these days, fighting off Arnold's special election.

Take a look at our group's website, and then talk to me again how you're pissed off and it's just a distraction.

40. first of all...
Whatever Sheehan says about anything is her own opinion.

I'm not sure how the emailer converted Sheehan's supposed comments into "If the Democrats don't support Israel."

Sheehan's not a Democratic spokesperson (altho it seem like nowadays that with our wimpy leaders). She is her own person.

43. Personally, I would question that individual's commitment to either,...

,...the Democratic party or to democracy or to free speech.

Why don't you question that "participant's" commitments to our basic principles rather than be drawn into an obvious RW offensive making you defensive?

Cindy's demand for the truth has nothing to do with Israel,...it has to do with this administration's secretive motives and intentional misrepresentations. IF the interests of Israel exceeded the interests of our own nation,...then, this administration has a HUGE PROBLEM,...because that activity would amount to treason.

6. I heard her interviewed on Stephanie Miller, and Ed Shultz
and the quote the RW echo chambers attributes her with, "Israel should get out of Palestine", she did NOT say

As a side line, whether she did or didn't has nothing to do with what she is protesting.

This is the typical Rove tactic to divide and conquer

The most important issue is our involvement in Iraq. Do NOT be misled by the RW/RNC talking points, which want to everything to change the subject

......Cuz, we're not freer. You're taking away our freedoms. The Iraqi people aren't freer, they're much worse off than before you meddled in their country.

You get America out of Iraq, you get Israel out of Palestine.

(massive round of applause)

And if you think I won't say "bullshit" to the President, I say move on, cuz I'll say what's on my mind.

35. Anderson Cooper 8/16
COOPER: You were also quoted as saying, "My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. If you get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine, and you'll stop the terrorism." How responsible do you believe Israel is for the amount of terrorism in the world?

SHEEHAN: I didn't say that.

COOPER: You didn't say that? OK.

SHEEHAN: I didn't say that my son died for Israel. I've never said that. I saw somebody wrote that, and it wasn't my words. Those aren't even words that I would say.

I do believe that the Palestinian issue is a hot issue that needs to be solved, and it needs to be more fair and equitable, but I never said my son died for Israel.

COOPER: OK, I'm glad I asked you that. Because, as you know, there's tons of stuff floating around on the Internet on sites of all political persuasions, so I'm glad we had the opportunity to clear that up.

SHEEHAN: And thank you, because those are not my words. It doesn't even sound like me saying that.

COOPER: Well, today, we've received numerous e-mails from viewers who saw that, and said, "Well, she lied. We read online that ABC News confirmed she sent them a letter saying exactly that."

No big deal, just part of an interview.

He says it was a throwaway line in a response to a question in an interview, along the lines of "And how do you think terrorism could be stopped?" She answered, among other things, "USA out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine."

And that's all. He thought it strange that someone would bring up this now:
