7. exactly what I was thinking
now they should do a poll asking how many have left the repuke party. That would be very telling. So they won't.

3. Sign of Authoritarianism
which approximately 35% of any population is strongly predisposed towards anyway.

Prior to rigging the elections, Hitler's Nazis could only get around 32-36% of the vote. Later they bumped it to like 42% by outlawing certain parties and ruling the streets and polling places with terror. Only after taking over completely did they ever manage to post an electoral "majority".

Kinda like...oh, nevermind.

6. His supporters are having a hard time letting go.
I'm sure many are aware that they are on the losing side here. Aware that they were wrong. Aware that they've been lied to. It will take some more time for them to adjust their thinking.

They're like a battered wife who stays and stays and stays as she continues to be abused. Many of them do eventually "get it". Of course, for some it happens too late.

8. Collusion.
A lot of them don't care that they were "lied to" for one simple reason: They were actually being lied "on behalf of." Bush lied for their side. Democrats, independents, and honest Republicans were lied to. The rest are co-liars and every bit as dishonest as Bush himself.

These people who are fanatically against abortion or gay rights simply don't care what Bush does. Lying is OK if done for the cause. Devastating, foolish wars? No problem.

They are fools and liars themselves, and "easy Christians." They'll give their votes to abortion demagogue-scoundrels if the scoundrels tell them it is just as good as feeding the hungry in the eyes of God. Cheap, lazy, stupid, and dishonest.

9. I heard Bill Moyers discuss this once - said that these days, the truth
is no longer important - what IS important is whether information fits into ones belief system. Those who think that * can do no wrong, or are locked into those few issues, can't see any information that is outside of their belief system. Scary stuff.
