Should Pro-Bush moms be considering "fair game"?
I know what should be the obvious answer to this is that we can't be like them and result to smear campaigns.

But to be honest the more I see the right-wing trashing of Cindy and them doing the same thing they constantly falsely accuse the left of by exploiting this Tammy Pruit and other Pro-Bush families like her, I can't help about wishing to fight fire with fire.

Granted that this Pruit mom has not put herself out there as prominently as Cindy to be attacked and other than mindlessly supporting a buffoon, meeting with Bush twice (unlike Cindy) and not actually losing a child...yet...there's not a whole lot of ammunition to be used against her. Add to that the lack of voices on our side in the media in order to bring it across.

While I know that's not how we should operate since it may draw people to their side like it has hopefully done in our favor and always believe in logical, peaceful debate, but I am getting so sick of the right-wing rhetoric against Cindy and the peace movement, sometimes my "dark-side" wants to give them a taste of their own medicine and those like Pruit know what it is like to be smeared simply because you believe a certain way.

:grr:

Go after the MO FOs who are exploiting them!!! :grr:

Cindy did this ON HER OWN,...and she is being SUPPORTED rather than solicited and exploited.

4. About Tammy Pruett
Obviously she has a right to her opinion about the war.

The only thing I would say to her, is that she does not know Cindy Sheehan's reality.

Tammy Pruett has not lost a child in Iraq. She's proud of the fact that she currently has 4 sons in Iraq, and her husband and another son returned from there last year. She should be proud of them.

But I disagree with her being a cheerleader for this war. And I want to know if she would feel the same way if she was forced to know Cindy Sheehan's reality; if she ended up losing a loved one over there.

5. This is about BUSH and his lies, not Cindy or GOP moms.
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 05:59 PM by Dr Fate
Cindy is doing what Democrats should have been doing 4 years ago- asking pointed questions and making truthful statements about Iraq.

Dont attack Mom- contunue to focus on the questions Cindy & many other Americans are asking.

The worst thing I can say about these GOP Moms is that they are not asking questions- but they can grieve however they want, I suppose.

6. Never. We ARE that much better than they are.
Don't get me wrong, there have been times for me when it's been way past tempting to stoop that low. But I can't bring myself to smear ANY relative or friend of an Armed Forces member. As different as their views on all this are, any attack on their family, as these unconscionable people have attacked Cindy, just smacks of the cowardice of the Bushites.

And I will have none of it.

7. No
Put the blame where it belongs. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.

All moms with children in Iraq have the right to their opinions even if we disagree.

8. NO!
Look what it go them, mostly because they went to the well one too many times.

I'm not averse to some dirty knife fighting, but only against pricks who started it in the first place.

Besides the 'two sides of the same coin' thing isn't working, the Pruitts have refused to attack Cindy Sheehan.

These bastards want us to fight each other, so that they can slink into the night while 'common' folk beat up on each other. It's a variation on the "let's you and him fight" the monied class in this country has used since the founding of the republic.

I want some Rove flank steak served with a side of Rummy Foi Gras, thank you very much.

16. Thanks for the opinions.
I agree with everyone who responded and like I said, I don't think we should lower ourselves to their level on this issue.

However when I hear this clip on AAR awhile ago from this skidmark RW radio host say things like "Cindy is urinating on her son's grave" and the usual "un american" bullshit, it is tempting. Though it did seem Jeanene was critical of Pruit.

I do realize these pro-war moms are being used by right-wing and also hope they never have to know what those like Cindy are going through.

So, I am in no way suggesting trashing these families...I just thought I would throw out the question since I have heard it mentioned more than once before by others.

18. The Pruits don't seem to have a problem with Cindy
So I don't see why anyone should go after them.

From CNN the other night:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0508/24/pzn.01.html

CAPT. LEON PRUETT: We don’t have anything against anybody that wants to protest or do anything like that. That’s wonderful. Isn’t it right — isn’t it wonderful that we have that right in this country to be able to do that?

...

T. PRUETT: Personally, as a mother, I feel her pain. Obviously, I can’t feel it to the extent that she does. But I totally empathize with her feelings.
