flat out. He said our soldiers volunteered to go to Iraq. Not true. Our soldiers enlisted believing our leadership would not lie to them. They trusted the Commander in Chief, who now refuses to answer one citizen's questions, even though she lost her son due to his war based on lies. Huckabee "believes in protecting children" but not in putting children first. Savage is, well, savaging him on that issue. That's the problem with being a rightwing apologist. You can't defend yourself without crabwalking constantly and outright lying. You have no defensible position.

talk over you Republicans. (Dan Savage was pretty good at this too.) I'd love to see her go up against O'Really and Limburger and Handjobitty. If progressives don't learn how to stand up to these media bullies, all is lost. Of course, none of the Right Wing attack dogs will go one-on-one with anyone who might go the distance with them.

24. They would never put her on their shows, she's too strong. |
|
They would dismiss her, by calling her a feminazi. :eyes:
Because she is pro-woman and created a play about women's vaginas and the power of acceptance, they would find a way to twist it and make her out to be insane. She could and would, no doubt handle them. I just doubt that they would even desire her as a guest...

32. I think that's why Jon Stewart was fantastic last night in regard to |
|
shutting down and up Christopher Hitchens. Jon is usually quiet in making his points, almost defferential, but last night his voice was loud, clear and concise.
We need more people who refuse to be shut down because they are afraid of rightwing slanderliars who challenge their patriotism. Keeping on point is vital. The minute that a lie is spewed by a bushbot, that lie has to be called on. That is the beauty of Cindy Sheehan. She will not allow anyone to veer her away from her message, and the Truth.

I acknowledge that REAL republicans do exist (somewhere) and I don't discard them all as "crazy freeptards"... A crazy freeptard was this pro-war lady on CNN earlier dressed like the American Flag ranting about traitors.
I can disagree with someone if they are polite and respectful themselves... He probably does believe what he says, but he didn't seem like the type of guy who is foaming at the mouth about liberals all day... He was more excited talking about his weight-loss book (he lost 100 pounds) than anything.
/not a moderate, liberal as can be.

33. They Really Don't Get It, Do They. They Have A Disaster On Their Hands |
|
Their hands, not ours.
What do they think the Electorate is going to do when they wake up to the fact that the GOP Leadership have spent $1T and destroyed tens of thousands of lives to create an Islamist state.
What do they think the Electorate is going to do when they wake up to the fact that due to the GOP Leaderships incompetence in Iraq we have handed the Middle East over to fundamentalist Iran.
What do they think the Electorate is going to do when they wake up to the fact that the GOP Leadership has given Bin Laden a great victory.
And Huckabee says, with a straight face, we should just trust our military and political leaders to do the right thing in Iraq.
Boy, what a plan. Trust the leadership that has lead us into this debacle.
