Oh here we go, 'They volunteered to be there...' Mike Huckabee
on Bill Maher. Such bullshit! I'm so sick of that argument. Why must they continue to remind us all that they enlisted, as if enlisting and going to war are one in the same...

10. Exactly. They enlisted believing
that our government would be honest. We didn't know our Secretary of State would go in front of the Security Council and present flawed intelligence. We didn't know the Bush administration would cherry pick the intelligence. We didn't know our CIA personnel would be ignored by their superiors. We didn't know our National Security advisor would put her allegiance to her boss ahead of her allegiance to her country.
And our soldiers didn't know any of this, either.
They trusted this administration to tell the truth. And, they didn't.

6. this is really the mantra that need to be heard
Yes, they voulunteered. Yes they took the "Queen's Shilling". Yes they are the Army and it is their job.

But no the Army should not be compelled to fight for a war of lies, and for corporate interests.

5. They volunteered to join the Army
They did not sign off on this gig - they were ordered to and if you don't follow orders in the Army they lock you up so, no matter what you think - once the order has been given you have to go.

Granted part of the deal in joining the army is being put into harms way but other than this clown - sending men to die has been treated as the gravest of actions - something requiring much thought and soul searching. And indeed we owe that to the troops - they are the ones who are going to die they deserve that level of care. Another vast difference between human beings and this nitwit narcissist.

I've had a family member in that damned war, and have another friend in Baghdad right now. Yes, they volunteered, but this country also promised them that they would not have to fight except as a last resort---they didn't count on their "commander? (choke)-in-chief" lying them into a war. The troops have held faith in us, cuckoobananas has not held faith with them. It is not only our RIGHT to protest this war---it is everyone's PATRIOTIC RESPONSIBILITY to protest this illegal, immoral, ill-advised war.

P.S.--to any trolling freepers: Yes, I said that it is the anti-war crowd who are the patriots---not you, who want to "stay the course" in Iraq. Listen to your hero Ronald Reagan for once who said, "Status quo is Latin for 'the mess we're in." Stay the course, my ass---doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result is one of the definitions of insanity. Why do you freepers hate America? (NO SARCASM.)

On edit for the freepers: If you think the Iraq war is so damned NOBLE, then do the PATRIOTIC thing, and enlist! Otherwise, STFU!

20. May your family menbers come home
and when they do, welcome them home. Trust me it was great to welcome my sailor home for the last time

And to the Freepers... go, go, the Marines are looking for a few good patriots... but aparently the troops don;t want yellow bellied cowards among their ranks.

May he rest in peace. Poor Cindy.

What an amazing woman! I hate how the right keeps stressing that she is 'grieving' as if that is all we should pay attention to.

No one seemed to care about that in the Schiavo case. Not once did they mention that Schiavo's parents were grieving and didn't want to lose their daughter.

29. I can't imagine what you must be going through.
Casey volunteered to go on a training mission that he couldn't have been properly trained or prepared for. His superiors should not have even asked him to go on that mission, in my opinion.

My thoughts are with you and your son. I hope he can keep his head down and get home safely.

34. You can tell who they are on the road...
They all have those damned 'support the troops' stickers on the back of their gas guzzling, non environmentally friendly suvs.

Everytime I see those, I want to ask them,'so, exactly what is it that you are doing to support the troops?'

Seriously, I hate the way they all embrace catch phrases (remember flip flop), yet they have little vested interest in what they are spewing. Sickening!
