left-wing TV guests/personalities... who can hold their own?
Someone said something in another thread about needing more people to stand up to the right-wing pundits.

Jon Stewart comes to mind... He really picked apart Hitches the other night. Hitchens can be a good debater who throws out a lot of trivia, places and names and I saw him really pummel an un-prepared Ron Reagan once. Stewart nailed him with realities (1998 vote for the US policy of removing Saddam was symbolic) that has Hitchens' eyes twitching.

Bill Maher is tough too... I only saw him really lose once and that was against Tony Snow last season. Snow really isn't really a bully though... it was something on Religion and answered every question with another question... ended up having Bill on the defense.

1. David Corn gets my vote
Especially in a one-on-one radio format, David can shoot down any RW spin-point argument faster than anyone.

He doesn't do that well in print, though.

6. Yeah
I remember him on Hannity before he entered the race and you know how Hannity does that thing where he goes:

"if you had your way saddam would still be in power, yes or no"...
"if you had your way saddam would still be in power, yes or no"..
"if you had your way saddam would still be in power, yes or no".
"ANSWER THE QUESTION!".... YES OR NO!"

I remember Wes Clark telling him to stop acting like a child and then blew him up with facts. I set my tape to record the re-run so I could show my brother.

8. Hannity sounds like he's copying Chris Matthews
Matthews is usually the guy who asks blunt yes or no questions.

7. I vote for.......
......Maher and Carville. Although Jon Stewart is pretty good too!!

Olbermann is good too but he's more of a reporter than a commentator.

9. Michael Rectenwald. He called Bush a 'war criminal' on Scarborough

Country, and offered other terrific comments and analysis. He rocks on air!

We need him on more shows, instead of the pathetic sycophants that the 'Left' usually offers as pundits.
