An open letter to elected Republicans.

Dear Republican Senators and Congresspeople:

I've read many articles from Republican pundits giving advise to Dems, so I'd like to return the favor.

Your captain (intentionally) steered the ship of state into an iceberg. Unfortunately, all of us in this country are on that ship, yourselves included.

Come the lead up to the '06 elections, many of you are going to be searching around for lifeboats. And no matter how much money you've got in your reelection coffers, keep in mind that people named Astor, Guggenheim, and other millionaires of the day, went down with the Titanic.

But enough with the sinking ship analogy. Some of you are decent people who have closed your eyes and looked the other way while BushCo raped our country and committed war crimes. Others of you are, at best, fascists, who don't, and never did, believe in democracy.

Either way, the majority has finally caught onto the Rove/Limbaugh/O'Reilly/Hannity/Coulter scam and will take it out on you at election time.

And yeah, I know we Dems are disorganized and undisciplined. But every time people couldn't find jobs, and felt the government and big business was screwing them, they've always turned to the Dems.

So I'll tell you what. Stick with Junior, our later-day Herbert Hoover. Just remember that the last time you had a Herbert Hoover thrown out of power, the Dems controlled the White House and congress for 20 years. And, oh yeah. They pulled us through the great depression, won WWII, and created a middle class that lasted until you and your ilk decided there should no longer be a middle class.

So enjoy your last year of absolute power. It will not come this way again in your lifetimes.

The discrepancies would be too overwhelming. My guess is that, if every one of us gets out there and votes, Tom DeLay and many other Republicans will be heading for sanctuary in Brazil which has no extradition treaty with us.

And perhaps, someday, Junior might seek sanctuary in Saudi Arabia. I doubt that Laura and his daughters would want to go with him.
