Hurricane Evacuation Orders - Scary Stuff
I have been listening to the evacuation orders from Parishes around New Orleans on the radio. Scary, scary, scary. The contraflow plan is scheduled to go into effect at 4:00 (all interstate traffic will be northbound only). I've been picking up all potential projectiles from our one acre in South Mississippi; gnomes and stuff. If it continues as predicted this will be our worse hurricane ever. We may move to a hurricane shelter tomorrow night. I can kick conservatives ass with one tusk tied behind my back, but mothernature poses a whole nother foe. All kind thoughts are appreciated.

Light a candle for New Orleans.

1. We're thinking of you and your family, BOSSHOG.
We'll pray.

I'm originally from Louisiana and am also very worried about Gulf Coast and about New Orleans. This hurricane looks like a bad one.

3. Best to you
BOSSHOG. Stay safe, you are all in our prayers and good thoughts.

Lived on LI for years and know the routine. There's so much you can do when you are at the mercy of Mother Nature.

7. Stay safe
The only good news is that Katrina is still moving West so she may miss all of you and head for Texas, which is would be really bad news for some other people. The experts think otherwise so prepare and take care.
Charge all your cell phones and find the old land line in case you don't have electricty. Buy lots of coal- cooks great food in an emergency.
Pack all important documents and put them in zip lock bags. Take a photo of everything in your home for insurance purposes.

14. Please be careful and take care. . .
You are one of our heroes. . .

and if I were there, I'd help ya'll gather up everything and batten down the hatches. Maybe, with any sort of luck, the hurricane will somehow shift direction again, though it will be tragic anywhere it makes landfall.
