Why do I keep having visions of Kennedy, Clinton, Carter, or even Regan comming out and trying to calm down both sides? And where is the chimp? Curled up under his desk in a fetal postion. I guess Nero loves to fiddle while Rome burns eh?

2. I've told people this over and over again!! He is NOT a leader
He's a pussy. He has had numerous opportunities to lead, instead he acts like a Freeper and tries to justify his retarded positions - what a craven critin he is.

3. What Bush has proved is that
anyone can be President. You have to be BORN a leader.

It's as simple as that.

6. You're right of course
but what he's doing is his CEO, President Act whereby his "underlings" (FreeRepublic, Americans Coming Together (or whatever the name of that insane group really is) are out in the 110 degree heat calling names and doing their damnedest to start a civil war while he enjoys a round of golf in San Diego!

7. Bush doesn't want to unite. His GOP big tent - empire for the next
Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 04:17 PM by applegrove
30 years is built on creating tribalism. The wedge issues are specifically put in place to tear apart the big Dem tent. They can't win any other way but by festering hate of gays, women's rights, hate the poor, etc.

When Bush said "He's a uniter not a divider" he meant what he did when he says "Clear Skies Initiative" and all the rest. He is just one big fat liar. And he assumes Americans are stupid enough to buy that without thinking for decades.

He really does hate Americans.

Yes - it will be very good when a real President is elected. Man the celebrations will be serious and the feeling thankful. Will likely be the most important moments in your political lives when you finally get rid of him.

8. Looking for a Uniter Not a Divider?
Not with this administration. A leader would see the big picture and know that there are tough times ahead where dems and republicans will need to work together. Seems that with this nutcase, only tragedy caused by his failures brings people together.

9. Think back
to after 9/11. We WERE united. We needed somebody to capitalize on those feelings instead of moving right away to polarize the nation the way he has. He spent his capital and the check bounced.

14. Right and why did we have 9/11?
Because of his failure to act. A REAL president would admit his failure of leadership - maybe say something catchy like ' the buck stops here' or something similarly pithy.

Btw, welcome to DU!

10. He's BUSY.
Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 04:21 PM by Stephanie
He has a SCHEDULE, damnit!

Bush has said he appreciates Sheehan's right to protest and understands her anguish but will not change his schedule to meet with her. His vacation is to end Sept. 2.

Bush himself described a typical day at his Crawford ranch to reporters recently, as reported by The New York Times: "I'm going to have lunch with Secretary of State Rice, talk a little business; Mrs. Bush, talk a little business ... take a little nap. I'm reading an Elmore Leonard book right now, knock off a little Elmore Leonard this afternoon; go fishing with my man, Barney; a light dinner and head to the ballgame. I get to bed about 9:30 p.m., wake up at 5 a.m. So it's a perfect day."

And how do we know that this is not the same schedule followed in DC? Other than there is no brush to clear on the WH lawn... or wait, maybe they keep it for him to clean it up as he is so good at it.

Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 04:40 PM by YOY
Unfortunately only the after will be true in a sort of sick self-fulfilling prophecy. They are terrified and hide behind the flag and think that Bush would NEVER do anything wrong...the media told them so.

They have no idea or concept of how to stop terrorism and think this war is justified.

They couldn't be more mislead.

19. Not interested in living the life of a lemming? Good.
I can't believe that they ARE loyal to him. I think the answer is that they just don't want to admit that they are wrong. Period.

To consider that Cindy Sheehan is right, that the Dems and the Progressives have a point, that Bush has LIED, would mean that they, every last damn GOOBER, are responsible for over **100,000** deaths and countless lives changed due to maiming, disfigurement and family, friends of those who are.

25. He Doesn't Want to Unite Us
Look at what happened after 9/11. The country united, & yet Bush ruined it when he went to Iraq. I was so happy when the country was together, & I am very angry at Bush for destroying it. All he cares about is himself & what he wants. He needed to continue the fight against bin Laden, but he only cared about oil & getting revenge for his father. Now, the country is so divided I wonder sometimes if I want to stay here any longer. The media has let us down, & the airwaves are full of reality shows & stupid celebrity crap. People on the other side actually accuse us of supporting the terrorists, which is bull. It will probably take me years to recover from all this. I don't know if I will like some people on the other side ever again, & that's what is so sad about this situation. Will we ever be united again?
