Bush's main problem that led to his many failures |
|
Bush has not learned the lesson in life, especially politics, that you need a friend who will keep you straight. That advisor, friend, whatever, who has the balls to tell him that he is wrong, and why he is wrong, and what course of action he can take. He has only had yes men. Anybody who challenges him, he fires. I suppose Powell may have been one of few to tell Bush like it was. I know he did with the Gonzales torture memo, mind you that was BEFORE Abu Ghraib, and had Bush listened the motivation for many of the insurgents would not be there. We see he is no longer Sec of State.
It shows a lack of character that he does not have such an advisor, but rather listens to Karl "Goebbels" Rove fill his ears with bullshit.
He thinks it shows strength and "resolve" that he "stays the course". He just doesn't have the balls to admit he has erred, and seriously at that. And that is probably because of the lack of an advisor/friend who used tough love.

2. It all starts with bad parenting |
|
Parents that were stinking rich and would let sonny boy do whatever he wanted. Of course these same parents were involved with many shady people and would come to like breaking laws that others just abide by. Money and greed have been known to cause problems before. You are right in that no one has been allowed to correct him, so the charade continues.

5. Yes, bad parenting to a certain extent |
|
I do recall hearing of many spats that Sr. had with Jr. Once you reach a certain age, you have to learn your own lessons. I think W's deal was that he kept latching on to daddy when he was VP and President. That is evident in the video of him on F911, when he was in Harkin oil.
He is a petulant, spoon fed, attention seeking, child. Still.

8. Yeah he never learned anything |

and the family never found a law they couldn't skirt or break. Even when caught red handed they find an out. I'm thinking of Iran/Contra, BCCI, S&L scandal and October Surprise.

7. I have a different impression of his upbringing. |
|
That his mother stopped him from mourning his sister, and that messed him up.

Aaron Sorkin once wrote a great line that says:
" If you're dumb, surround yourself with smart people. And if you're smart, surround yourself with smart people who disagree with you."
We already know Bush is not smart which is why he doesn't know that having people disagree with you can be a good thing!! It allows you to consider other options and broaden your view of a situation.
And about his 'strenght' and 'resolve', his kind of resolve is not something I value.........it's more like stubborness! When you insist on doing the same thing over and over and get poor results, only a fool or an idiot would continue to do the same thing and expect a different outcome!

does what he is told. The purpose of this whole criminal government has never been to do the right thing for our country. It's about world domination in cahoots with some other world powers. We are being ruled by a shadow government and Bush is the head of one of their vassal states.
