Any sponsors for poor or long-term unemployed to attend Sept protests?
As somebody who has been long-term unemployed (and struggling to put together a freelance income), I don't have the funds to make a trip to Washington even though I very much want to. (I'm one of those displaced IT people)

I'm also wondering if there are many others in my boat as well.

I very much want to go to Washington and scream myself hoarse against this rotten President.

However, I'm really too bad off to spend any of my own meager funds on this. This makes me feel very torn, as I do understand self-sacrifice, but I also don't want to put myself in an even worse position either.

Any thoughts?

1. Look for the nearest Peace and Justice Center.
They are trying to organize peace rallies in different cities on the same day.

2. There needs to be some big hippy busses
That folks can sleep in, and hop on. I understand your pain, I can't afford to go to the DC protests either. I wish they had more local ones, like on feb. 15th.

3. there is always the possibility to protest locally
it's important of course to have huge numbers in Washington.

but spreading the protests all over the country the same day is very important too

4. There will be a protest here in SF...
if that is any closer to you. We get huge numbers here. If so, you may be able to hook up with others who are on their way.

6. Is that official?
Or just a small thing? If other people are going I could get to SF.

11. Yes, it's official...
and it shouldn't be a small thing. Even the smallest march in the post few years has brought out 10-15 thousand. I think with the renewed antiwar sentiment, it will be a big one.

10. What if a freeper picked him up
:scared:
That would be worse than catching a hitch with Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre).
