Pro-Bush Crowd Tells Peace Mom To 'Go Home!'
Both Sides Now Have Backing Of Big P.R. Organizations

POSTED: 10:35 am EDT August 27, 2005
UPDATED: 6:05 pm EDT August 27, 2005

CRAWFORD, Texas -- Thousands of people descended on President George W. Bush's adopted hometown Saturday to attend rallies either supporting Bush or peace activist Cindy Sheehan.

A pro-Bush rally was the culmination of the "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour, which started last week in California in response to Sheehan's protest that started Aug. 6 near Bush's ranch.

Several times the crowd of about 1,500 chanted, "Cindy, go home!"

Meanwhile, busloads of war protesters gathered several miles away at "Camp Casey," named for Sheehan's 24-year-old son who died in Iraq last year. Organizers estimated the crowd at more than 2,000 but it appeared smaller.

1. Turn-about is fair play.
The war itself was conducted with the help of PR folks.

3. They're probably paid protesters
since this 'anti-Cindy' thing is paid for by the RNC. Too bad for them it's so flipping obvious!

6. Wonder if RNC is paying them as much as they did the Florida protestors
from the 2000 election.

Sloshing around the mall fountains today. It would have been more, but I thought I seen a quarter really far out. Turns out it was a damn pop top can made me stub my toe and fall in. No I wont get to sleep tonight thinking of all the dimes and nickles that I passed up trying to get to that frigging pop top can. Damn freepers like they really think there dreams going to come true the closer you get to the drain. Grrr.

5. Old news. And so what?
Some of Cindy Sheehan's public relations is being handled by SF based Fenton Communications, and apparently funded by a political action group founded by Ben Cohen, of Ben & Jerry's ice cream fame. This less-than-jaw-dropping "revelation" hit the MSM last week.

To which I would say again, so what? You mean the neocon's DON'T have a PR machine working for them?

7. ALWAYS accuse your opponents of what you are doing,
or are just about to do..This is standard operating procedure for the rovians.... They will protest, then when you accuse them(truthfully) it will just look like tit for tat...

They have been doing this to us forever now...

The Democrats stole the 2000 presidential election is a rightwing meme.

Maybe it's true, or maybe they just printed a rightwing accusation as if it were.

14. "Cindy, go home"?
What exactly is she doing that's so disruptive? If this isn't indicative of the RW's disdain for the First Amendment, I don't know what is.
