War is big business
Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 11:35 PM by graywarrior
General Electric Transportation Aircraft Engines in Lynn landed a $107 million contract for parts, repair and program support for 36 F-18E/F aircraft engine components.

According to a U.S. Department of Defense statement, the Naval Inventory Control Point awarded the contract, which is slated for completion by September 2007. General Electric's Lynn plant will perform the work.

Last month, General Electric's Lynn plant inked several deals, including: two contracts worth a total of $12.5 million to supply F/A-18 aircraft parts over the next 18 months; a $38.7 million two-year contract to make 86 T58 engine reliability module kits; an $18.4 million two-year deal to make aircraft parts for the U.S. Navy's F-404, J-85 and TF-34 aircraft engines; and a $6.7 million contract to supply F/A-18 aircraft engine air seals to the U.S. Navy through December 2006.

GE Transportation, the business unit of GE Aircraft Engines, announced that it expects to post about $15 billion in revenue this year.
