the hurricane has 150 mph winds. People get moving out of there!

2. This will be a catastrophic storm but
looking at the coordinates and bearing in mind that Katrina is still traveling WNW, I don't see how New Orleans will take a direct hit. All models suggested that she would veer North as opposed to West North West. I suspect that somewhere West of New Orleans will take that hit.

you won't escape damage but you might escape a direct hit. Damn this is one serious hurricane. Reminds me of Gilbert in 1988.

5. The greatest damage occurs in the NE quadrant
So any landfall to NO's west side would be the worst possible scenario.
