Did anyone catch Biden on ABC this morning?
Stephanopoulos really confronted him on Iraq, taking up the "where are the Democratic leaders?" line.

Biden at first tried to push back, including saying that he "resented" having to defend himself against Gary Hart's criticism. George asked him why he resented Gary hart's criticism (great question) and Biden then actually put his head down, waited 5-10 seconds before answering. Clearly Biden realized he had screwed up and he then proceeded to reinvent his Iraq position, actually saying his position was just like Feingold's.

Shit, no wonder we are in such a fucking mess. If Biden is a "leading Democrat" we are in deep shit. Basically Biden is worthless.

1. No, but I'm watching Wesley Clark kick butt on Meet the Press
Most things he is saying, we already know, but he is getting his point across very effectively.

5. Agreed. Things may start to turn around when the dems find their
position and their voice. Without this happening, this country will remain a one-party regime.

6. All the news shows book Biden before most anyone else. They always have.
Biden, Bayh and Lieberman are the top 3 Dem choices because they are 3 of the most supportive on Bush policy in general.

Although I do believe NONE of them would have invaded Iraq if they were president themselves after weapons inspections and further diplomacy proved that war was NOT NECESSARY for national security.

9. I am not watching. I am tired of Biden
and McCain--especially McCain, Mr. Mealy-Mouth. They are both just looking for facetime on television.

10. This is what he and the people who book him on these shows
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 09:01 AM by Totally Committed
week after week after week get for over-exposing him this way. Is there no one in his camp that is willing to tell him to cool it for a few weeks? I don't know enough about his staff to know if he is just surrounded by yes-people or sychopahnts or if they are just too stupid or afraid to tell him what's what. But, he is such a publicity hound, way too over-exposed to be taken seriously anymore -- his staff needs to sit him down and have an intervention, or by this time next year, when he should have announced, he will be a joke.

I don't care one way or another, but he is clearly self-destructing every week in front of our eyes on national television.

15. biden and clarence thomas
they should be duct taped together, several rolls and drenched in pepsi before leaving them on an anthill :)
read 'strange justice' by mayer and abramson....biden should do prison for helping pornpig thomas (whatever the nazipoos got on thomas, it's bad!) onto the suppreme whore. on page 360, the authors recount how reporters suggested that thomas's rulings would 'evolve' or 'grow' similarly to o'connor and souter etc, with passing time...thomas replied he wasn't evolving, nor growing; it would take him '43 years' (his age then) on the US supreme court, he told aides, to get even (with america)!
Biden is a goof (mind you, he just went along with the thomas nom, but his help was critical...)
the bush banana peel hopefully will expose the thomas story to america- biden's name should be forever be linked directly to thomas, and thus dec12/00

14. * is right in this case - IT IS HARD WORK - it is hard to think of...
good solutions, it is hard to put one's ego aside and think about the public, the future, impacts, risks. Problem is the people we send to Washington for the most part can't do the hard work. And, those of us here who CAN think would never get there - too much free thought, too many ghosts in the closet to please our stupid population that wants to put politicians on a moral pedestal.

17. right! what clinton did wasn't easy....
clinton worked 24/7 in effect, and he never got nasty or vindictive while filling the Nat. treasury despite constant harrassment by bushevik nazipoos....too bad clinton never dealt with the pigmedia- at least send operatives to do a 'pat robertson' on limbah-humbug and murdock and sally quinn and tom brocaw-caw etc (they gave way to orally, weiner, hannazi and coulter, brite hum john gibson, lesley wolfblitzer, cafferty and cnn types etc
"an emboldened coward frightens even a cornered rat"! as the saintly Che once wisely noted

16. Biden is unique in the amount of attacking other Demos he does
and always with a dismissive tone. He is dead meat. But any Democrat who plans to have a chance in 2008 better get "reborn" on the Iraq war, i.e., talk about withdrawal NOW, to have any chance of being credible or listened to. This means, H. R. Clinton, Kerry, Bayh any of the lot.
