Most Moranic LTTE ever...
This was in the paper this morning:

TV special proved Bush right about war

Initially, I was a very strong supporter of President Bush's invasion of Iraq. However, like many other Americans, I have had some doubts lately about whether or not the price we have had to pay so far has been worth it.

But after I watched the four-hour special "Inside 9/11," which aired on the National Geographic Channel recently, those doubts are gone for good!

President Bush calls it the war on terror. He's right! But war is also being fought all over the globe, and we need to realize that we are now fighting World War III. Our enemy is not just another country but worldwide Islamic extremism/terrorism, and its ultimate goal is to eliminate us and destroy our way of life. Now, radicals are flocking to Iraq to fight the great Satan. Well, I'd much rather we fight them there in Iraq than here at home in America!

I urge anyone who did not see this excellent special to watch it the next time it is aired.

1. Check.
Send your child to another country to risk death so that you may continue to live in relative comfort. Check.

Kill lots of civilians who were unlucky enough to be born in Iraq in time period of both Saddam and Dubya. Check.

Get ready to invade either Iran or Syria, or both. Check.

Invent ways to justify the unjustifiable. Check.

3. Yes.
They try to balance out the intelligently written letters, with one of these on a fairly regular basis. This one seemed especially noteworthy though. It parroted back all the moranic talking points in a way that is illogical and incoherent even within the letter.

5. I don't know...the one near it on Intellegent Design was pretty idiotic
Some people will defend anything, no matter how lame, stupid, misguided, and patently false it is.

4. I saw that special a few night's ago
and thought it could have been written by the Administration's PR team. It was pure flag waving fluff. It towed the line on every single talking point of Bush, and even made the Patriot Act out to be a great thing.

And I love the ol' "I'd much rather we fight them there in Iraq than here at home in America" talking point. Right out of the GOP playbook. Tell that to the people of London though.

6. Everytime I hear that one...
I always think about how the people in Iraq would view that reasoning, too. I don't remember the "We're going to use your country, which up until now has been despotic, but secular, to be a magnet for all the fundamentalist terrorist types. That way it can turn into a despotic fundamentalist country where we can fight terrorists." Fortunately, like every other rationalization, it falls apart with even the slightest scrutiny. The people responsible for the violence in Iraq are much more likely to be Iraquis associated with ethnic divisions or nationalist tendencies than fundamentalist terrorists. Of course, explaining any of that to these morans is a lost cause. Middle Eastern=Terrorist in their simplistic world view.

7. Thank Spirit for the Democratic Underground!
I'm surrounded by people who think like this (I live in a red pocket just north of San Diego in Cal).

Thank Goodness I have a place where I can go: a place where the people there understand that this war was illegal, immoral and unnecessary. Moreover, we created the "terrorism" outbreak there.
