1. This person is clearly mentally ill |
|
Phelps is an example of a borderline clinically sane person with a really bad case of perverted christianity. To me he is totally on a par with whack jobs like Bin Laden and Pat Robertson...all eager to kill for their perverted beliefs or at least wishing eternal torture on the people that don't agree with their twisted, hateful view of the world.

2. The Protesters Are Lucky |
|
If I had been at the funeral of soldier who had been killed in Iraq and those idiots had shown up it would have been hell to pay. I would have grabbed anything handy, preferably about a 4-foot 2x4, and started beating on them and I would not have stopped until the police arrive and clubbed me into submission. I am dead serious about that - one or more of those assholes would have been hurt badly.

5. That's exactly what they want. |

Phelps' kids are attorneys and they travel around just HOPING someone will assault them, so they can turn around and sue them and raise more money for the church. It's all a racket.

have you ever been sued? You'd be surprised how much you have that they can take. Garnish future wages; liens on your home; not to mention all YOUR attorney bills.
But you gotta do what you gotta do. IMO, the best response to these people is to point and laugh. They hate that.

3. Done, this is an example of what I talk about with helpful methods |

of protest verses unhelpful. Phelps foolishness is causing people to confront their own homophobia. They see the ends of this anti gay view and they start to think to themselves maybe my "milder" anti gay view is stupid too. Flag burners and Jane Fonda's protest in North Vietnam helped prolong the Vietnam War. There is effective and ineffective protest. Phelps (good he is counter effective), Fonda in North Vietnam, flag burning were/are not effective methods of protest.

It shows there is a sickness growing in this country that is being spread by people that say they are religious. Religion of hate is shameful.
