A thought on re-framing the Pro-Bush crowd...
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 10:13 AM by Buddyblazon
This is a simple one as it is just taking back the language.

From this point forward I will not call them, "Pro-Bush" or "Pro-War".

I will now refer to them as the "Anti-Peace" crowd. And I ask you to join me.

Edited for a "fReeper-like" grammatical error :)

4. Just bought a bumper sticker at the Randi/AM 760
birthday bash up in Boulder.

"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." - Ghandi

But I think it bashes Christians in general. And I know a lot of good Christians. So that one may need to stay off the car.

5. They like to use the word "anti" for us all the time....
and it's probably because it's a negative.

So I've started using it for them. Anti-choice. Anti-peace. Anti-freethinkers.

Which is what they are.

9. I just call em Nazis, cuz that's what Mark Felt thought they were
and it explains everything. And he ought to know. Nazis with a tall N.

And yes, they are Anti-Peace; but frankly, I'm having trouble with the "Anti-Peace" meme. While logical, it just doesn't grab me.

I call em warmongers and blood profiteers, or greedy SOBs. I might use Anti-Peace if someone had directly called me "Anti-War" as an insult. But I don't see that happening in conversation, they call us cowards and commies and I call them crackers, cretins, corporatists and conmen. In fact I like to pull out a bunch of alliterative insults that simply overwhelms them--thay have limited vocabularies, you know. They usually surrender immediately and laugh and then want to be friends with me!

I just have a MAJOR preference for staying away from Latin-derived words when composing my oppo-prop. Good ol' Vulgar Anglish has more emotional impact--"Nazi," while German of course, has entered the English langage, has enormous oomph, (shit, it sucks the air out of a room!) and trumps their weak "hippie" crapola.
