Why the heck doesn't Bush get his rear end back to the White House?
Some "president;" perhaps the worst national disaster in U.S. history tomorrow, and Shrub rides his bike and clears brush. Neither war nor hurricanes are allowed to interfere with his vacation. He turns his remarks into another bunch of platitudes about Iraq. How can anybody support this guy? He should be at the White House at this time. Oh well, we are probably better off with him hiding in Texas.

1. Yeah, its political suicide
Seriosuly...he flew back to sign that thing for Schiavo, but faced with this horrible storm, he stays in Crawford.

LOL, now he's going off about how ebul the insurgents are, and how its going to get worse, in his best Darth Vader impression.

6. Frankly, hes not smart enough to be Darth Vader!
And its deplorable that he would use the tragedy that's coming to the gulf coast to propagandize and lie about the constitution in Iraq which is essentially nothing more than the establishment of a fundamentalist regime that will strip rights from women.

He should be back in Washington with the disaster thats heading to the Gulf and the ongoing disaster in Iraq!

2. He's gotta "stay the course"
He said he was going to take a five week vacation, and if he relents, then the hurricane has won.

9. I appreciate the humor.
I will use that one. We can use a little humor now. Tough to find it, though.

Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 11:46 AM by in_cog_ni_to
in the fact that he's on vacation and no matter what happens, he's "resolute" in not ending it.

8. This might be the month where they fill him up with drugs and give
him mental shocks to keep his brain intact for another 12 months - or the next vacation. BTW, where the heck is congress? Why do our elected leaders get so much more vacation then the electorate?

11. Let him stay where he is
he does less damage if he's on vacation.

Perhaps he can take a permanent one, I'd support that "individual" bill if it kept him out if the Whitehouse.

12. Because he must match the vacation days off record held by Nixon
who by the way Cheney,Rumsfeld,Powell had served under at the same time.
Has to do with paying respect to Nixon as dumb as it may sound!

15. Frankly, I wonder if he is having at least a minor breakdown....
Bush is a rigid control freak (this has been documented, but I don't
have the links at hand) who does not do well when things don't go
his way. There are rumors flying he is on the edge.

I think Bush's handlers are trying to get him functional.
