Has Bush EVER Just Come On Out And Urged Calm? Ever? Just Freaking Once?
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 03:54 PM by DistressedAmerican
When times are bad this guy has two responses.

1) Hide like a little girl and let us get by suckling at the MSM teat

OR

2) Come out and make alarming remarks about this only being the beginning and that we should expect more and worse.

This must be one of the former.

Ducking questions on GLOBAL WARMING GEORGE?

Didn't think you'd also see a major city decimated in your term? Did you?

Well, you report fudging assholes. the least you could do is get out there and lead like a freaking American President! Lead! Try to keep people calm in a time of crisis. Just once.

Would your hero Regan be hiding like a bitch? He had a ranch too. But, he didn't use it to hide from the outside world!

This asshole is a massive disaster looming:

Be a freaking man for once in your miserable life George and lead!

My God!
:puke:

22. They fear not being able to manipulate us with fear...
This adminstration is chuck-full of Straussians, followers of that wacko philosopher Leo Strauss. A study of Leo Strauss's flawed philosophy and his followers in the Bush* administration will shed some light on this huge deception perpetuated on this nation and will illustrate how they are attempting to manipulate us.

Here are a few of of Strauss's tenets that, well, speak for themselves...

The fundamental aggressiveness of human nature could be restrained only through a powerful state based on nationalism. "Because mankind is intrinsically wicked, it has to be governed. Such governance can only be established, however, when men are united –– and they can only be united against other people." - Leo Strauss

Strauss thought that a political order could be stable only if it was united by an external threat. If no external threat existed, then one had to be manufactured. Sound familiar?

For Strauss, "religion is the glue that holds society together”. Irving Kristol, among other neo-conservatives, had argued that separating church and state was the biggest mistake made by the founders of the US republic. "Secular society in their view is the worst possible thing," because it leads to individualism, liberalism and relativism –– precisely those traits that might encourage dissent, which in turn could dangerously weaken society's ability to cope with external threats. "You want a crowd that you can manipulate like putty".

Do not expect any leadership from the Moran King.

We have to lead and console each other.

8. Uh-oh...you told Bush to "be a man"...
A few days ago, I started a thread on that topic and most DUers seem to find that phrase sexist and offensive.

How about: "Be a freaking human being!"? More inclusive but not as catchy on a sign...

14. Don't get me wrong...I say Bush should "be a man" all the time.
A lot of people take that as meaning "be a man as opposed to being a woman," in spite of that clearly not being the context. Just FYI.

I say Bush should "be a man" and for once take ownership of his decisions and their consequences.

9. You know he's going to be all over TV AFTER talkin' some shit...
:grr:

Fucking DO something, dummy!

But what really chaps my ass is that you KNOW he's going to be all over the tv, flying over, surveying the damage, blah blah blah. Telling us that $5 bucks a gallon is all Katrina's fault, everything is Katrina's fault, except what's Saddam's fault.

Because nothing is ever HIS fault.

What a punk ass prick.

official statement, and even then it was Karen Hughes. Right?

Why would now be any different?

15. I distinctly remember him telling everyone after 9-11 to go shopping.
That's almost the same thing as "stay calm" - just more money involved.

I guess it was mostly flags and candles after 9/11. I little less competition.

"Stay Calm. Spend Money."

Ahh! Now, doesn't that feel better?
