Ever Hear Of The "Henry Hub"? |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 04:58 PM by ThomWV
It is the gatherning point for most of the natural gas used in the eastern United states, the point of delivery for futures trading, and the lifeblood fuel headed for our newest gas-fired electricity plants. It is dead in the line of the storm.

3. Good question.... I didn't realize there were that many pipelines |
|
IN THE GULF. Whose job is it to find the submerged rigs, the lost lines and so forth after this monster passes????

6. Owner and operator of the Henry Hub, |
|
Sabine Pipe Line LLC is a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation and is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Sabine's 131-mile pipeline is used to transport natural gas between Erath, Louisiana and Port Arthur, Texas. Sabine is also the proud owner and operator of the Henry Hub, which provides access to more than a dozen interstate and intrastate interconnects. Due to its interconnect capability and history of providing reliable gas transportation service, the Henry Hub was selected in 1989 as the official delivery mechanism for the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) natural gas futures contract.

Hopefully, they have plans in place in case there is damage......

7. I've been at a couple of the pumping stations for LPNG.... and they |
|
are very very large... I don't see how they couldn't/wouldn't be harmed in a storm such as this.
