Evidently both were shot by a U.S. sniper. Last I heard his status was still unclear.

5. The car he was shot in....
The journalists are targeted by US troops.....

The car of Reuters soundman Waleed Khaled is seen after he was shot dead in Baghdad's Al Ghazalea district August 28, 2005. Khaleed, a Reuters Television soundman, was shot dead in Baghdad on Sunday and a cameraman with him was wounded and then detained by U.S. soldiers. Iraqi police said they had been shot by U.S. forces. A U.S. military spokesman said the incident was being investigated. (Mohammad Ameen/Reuters)

11. I remember
watching "Control Room" and at the very beginning someone in Al-Jazzera was telling how they had to tell the Pentagon the exact points of where they were going to be at. They couldn't go there until they told where they were going to be.

Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 06:32 PM by GloriaSmith
the hostage negotiate who got her out of hostage shielded her with his own body. Italy didn't buy our story of how it went down.

edit: spelling error

13. That was an Italian journalist
Apparently the people who were holding her warned her as well according to her. They were going to investigate the car that was "lost" but I don't know whatever happened to that case. Does anybody else?
