Where are the evacuation planes and copters?
I know with the rising winds it's too late now, but good God, it's not as if they didn't have plenty of early warning about this!

Where the hell is the emergency evacuation effort? Where is Washington? Where are the airlines? Where is the Army (a rhetorical question, I know...)?

Where the FUCK is the government help when New Orleans and her people needs it so urgently?

IMHO people need to be tied to a post for this one. The coming disaster will be of literally biblical proportions, and meanwhile Nero continues to fiddle from the comfort of the Crawford Pig Sty.

I was going to go to Crawford tomorrow, but am not certain now it would be appropriate given what will be happening by then (I live in Dallas, and the drive would not have been a long one).

I just know people are going to die and homes, families, businesses, and perhaps a city will be destroyed, and george *bush has not lifted a finger to help. Until now it's been my stance that he is a traitor to his country. If predictions come true, tomorrow will be the third separate and distinct time in his misadministration he'll be directly responsible for mass murder.

1. Its not like they were not aware of the dangers of what is going
on today, like another poster I watched a special on this very scenerio a year ago? I'm sick with worry for all these people.

3. Copters have been grounded there
for quite a while. Since yesterday, I heard. Doesn't take a lot of wind to keep them out of the skies.

4. Why are so many stuck in line
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 05:47 PM by DoYouEverWonder
Waiting to get into the Superdome?

Why aren't there 100's of buses lined up to get these folks out of there?

Because just like on 9-11 we have no one leading this country who can give the orders to make these things happen. Once again Bush is AWOL.

5. GO to Camp Casey.
It will be even more appropriate to be another person involved in publicizing and showing how poor of a president Mr.bush is. Go.

13. Wrong mr. apathetic! We give our states NAT'L level help for emergencies
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 06:19 PM by ultraist
We don't expect states to depend solely on local resources for this magnitude of an emergency. FEMA, for instance is a federal program.

They could also use their national guard troops to prepare for the storm and to help evacuate people. But 3,000 of them are in Iraq!

15. Which direction shall they start walking in?
North? But with the high winds, all the bridges have been closed. South, into the swamps, and into the eye? East-- more of the Bayou? West, into sparsely populated country, without the possibility of shelter?

Out of gas at all the service stations means unless you happen to have a full tank, you're screwed (at these prices you're screwed anyway). If you don't have a car, I guess you can take a bus- oh, wait, Greyhound has canceled all bus service to the area. A small plane? Nope- the winds are now too high.

You're right, I guess. Sit back and let it hit full bore while the rest of the country tunes in to the Weather Channel and thanks God they're not anywhere near. And after it's all over, send a buck or two to the red cross.

A pity the Army and National Guard are otherwise occupied. Guess the relief will have to be left to those lucky enough to still be standing on dry ground-- oops, not too likely, since the city will be under water, and Louisiana will now have a shiny new coast line.

Fuck, yeah. What was I thinking. Everyone just go home, folks. Nothing to see here, and no need for the government to lift a hand after all. They're all good to go down on the Bayou..

11. Why would * spend that kind of money on a 67% Black population?
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 06:13 PM by ultraist
NO has a 67% Black pop., 90% of the Black population votes Democratic.

We know how much * cares about people other than his own.
