3. Are we taking bets on tomorrow?
$75 for sure, well past $80 if there's even the hint of damage to anything. Gasoline tacks on another 50 cents, easily.

24. Depends on how many oil rigs disappear.
Either way, it's going to be bad.

It holds 17 gallons. We'll see how long I can make it last. I have to drive into town two times next week unfortunately. :(

6. I filled up this afternoon and called warning family and friends ...
... to do the same.

This is going to be bad ... even w/out major damage, things will be shut down for days (at best); the oil companies will get what they can with out any fear of governmental reprisal.

16. I filled up this afternoon and thought
"Well, that's the last time I see gas for $2.50 a gallon."

Sigh. It really pales in comparison to the horror that faces anyone in Katrina's path.

17. I hope oil prices go into orbit! $200 here we come woohoo!
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 07:00 PM by RSchewe
Then maybe people will start caring. The prices are high because people still won't slow down consumption and don't mind paying those prices. It is funny how we are getting mugged by these prices and oil companies are making record profits.

Eventually it will reach a breaking point and not until then will anything be done about it. Let's just hope it doesn't lead Bush to take us into another war.

19. About a week ago I read where someone predicted
the price of a gallon of gas would soon match the $5.15 per hour minimum wage - this was before Katrina!

:wow:

22. That's the real scoreboard, IMO. The price of gas in dollars ...
... says it all about Bush's Folly. He has given a lot of oil to conservative Islam.
