Fredicka Whitfield is smiling just a wee bit too much as she reports
about Katrina....I know newscasters are supposed to have a "pleasant" look, but she just seems to be smirking and I don't like it considering the nature of what may happen to many residents of the gulf coast.

Maybe I'm just a little on edge because this is just so scary!

2. Yes, I noticed that - creepy

What is with this? Maybe she sees Katrina as her golden opportunity to be in the limelight and wants to have that perky Miss America quality so beloved of the mainstream media moguls.

3. Hey if you're down there
then get the hell out! And good luck to all of the folks down there. We need you on our planet, regardless of your politics. Been to New Orleans and want to go again, so protect yourselves and rest assured, you will have help rebuilding, if you need it.

4. I saw another newscaster guy live in LA
looking really happy that the weather was starting to turn bad.
They can barely contain their excitement.

they can barely control their excitement during these storms.

9. Yeah, but they are meteorologists. They LIVE for this crap
What else in the world could turn on a meteorologist as much as a big mofo storm?

11. And others will be DYING for this crap --
they need to have an appreciation that the GRAVITY of the situation -- people dying -- requires just a little less on camera glee. Not that difficult a concept.

8. She can remember what happened to Anderson Cooper
and can't wait to be blown away herself. Then she can have a hole in her ass too.

10. No. I've seen several broadcasters that were a bit too pleasant
given the gravity of the situation, one of them a weather guy this afternoon. He must've been on MSNBC because that's what I mostly watch. I've not appreciated it at all.

15. I noticed that too, they always look gleeful while giving the most tragic
news. It's downright rude and insensitive.
