9. He'll say, these things take time, "we are making great progress." |
|
He'll give his cronies big money contracts to rebuild the city and they will take a very long time to complete the work. Millions of dollars will go missing...

10. What I'm wondering is ... when they need the National Guard |
|
and have so few of those troops stateside to help at a critical time like this, what's he gonna say?
"Oh, well, they're defending our Freedom and Liberty in Iraq - fighting the terrorists THERE so they won't come HERE."
I'll bet those southern states, which have contributed a lion's share of the NG troops for Iraq, have ALREADY seen the need to call in the NG arise, and haven't been able to figure out what to do without them. Imagine the looting threat, the danger of fighting and all kinds of catastrophe-related human behavior that would demand NG troops. Imagine how on earth they're gonna get relief supplies in to stranded people when they won't have NG troops to drive trucks and man barricades and all that.
I do think he will have a LOT to answer for before this horrific event is over... and most of it will be glaringly obvious. I saw him making his announcements this afternoon with a very concerned look on his face. I wonder if some of his worry is for his own hide when people realize how bad things will be with no NG troops to help HERE at HOME in a time of most need!?

14. "I met with those people ... |
|
... once already during the campaign. It would set a bad precedent for the president to meet more than once with those people."
"You all need to hear this. There are many cities that have not been hit with a hurricane, yet they are still a vital part of America. The president has to be balanced in his treatment of American cities."
"I am just as in touch with what is going on here in Texas as I would be in Washington."
"This is an act of God."
Expect lots of talk from Bush about 'God' and the hurricane.
