Generally speaking, is storm damage properly assessed?

My experience here in NC is that it is grossly exaggerated both by the media and by property owners.

1. I agree that it's exaggerated

But I also think it's really hard to tell at first. There is usually a lot of unseen, underlying damage.

2. If NO homes sit under 20 feet of water for 5 weeks... it will be pretty

hard to exaggerate the damage.

3. I imagine insurance companies wont allow them to

get too exaggerated... however, Katrina is likely to set the record.
