CAN THE SUPERDOME HOLD UP TO THIS PUMMELING? |
|
It hasn't been rated for this kind of storm, I heard...

1. They claim it can withstand up to 200 mph winds... |
|
Of course, it's never seen anything like the SUSTAINED winds--let alone gusts--it's about to be pummeled by. Here's hoping--and praying--it can take it.

5. IT mostly likely will be fine... |
|
it is designed to take 200 mph winds, and thats with a factor of safety, so it probably could take 250 gusts and be ok.
In any event, there may be that .1% chance that the Dome will fail, however, that beats the 90% chance that the vast majority of people taking shelter will see their homes destoryed (and them along with it if they had stayed)

8. The real problems come after the hurricane. |
|
So you live through it and find that the superdome is now a building in a lake, with NO electricity, NO drinkable water, NO working plumbing, NO food, NO air conditioning to even get fresh air into the building.
And you will be just one of many groups, albiet the biggest one, needing rescue.
