4. Officials have said that they're going to prosecute if the allegations
are true.

I missed part of the story, but I heard something about a hotel cancelling reservations and giving rooms to the highest bidder.

Disgusting.

12. The attorney general is setting up hotlines...
There are reports of price gouging, and they are urging people to report them to a number, which I missed... I'll see if it shows on the crawler...

The reports are price gouging on water, gas, hotel rooms, anything to do with sheltering in place...

13. The good thing about the past two AGs in Louisiana
They're tough tough tough Democrats. When they hear of price gouging they perp walk the motherfuckers and they put a LOT of resources into prosecuting them and being there personally to see they pay the piper. No plea deals.

15. Hey, people gotta compete for limited resources
Competition, not cooperation. That's the essence of our economic system. What better way to get ahead of the game than to sucker people who need help the most? You get more money, and they get whatever it is you give them. Everybody wins! :sarcasm:

17. when Fla. got hit in '04, the van Mises Institute spewed out that
stopping price-gouging was immoral because it killed people by denying them access to goods!
