What will happen to the graves n New Orleans? |
|
Will they have to recover them as they float away or are they secure enough to withstand a severe flood?

I'd think that the majority will be okay, but the shallower graves will be washed free and open.

6. There are "regular" cemeteries as well as the old ones with |
|
above-ground crypts. I'm not sure any of the ones with below-ground burials are within the city limits but like any large city, New Orleans has extensive suburbs. I haven't done a major study of NO-area cemeteries but I do have a cousin buried in one.

5. Fortunately, dead bodies are not terribly pathogenic. |
|
Contrary to popular opinion, the dead rarely carry anything that the living can catch (because that would be counter-productive for the bacteria/etc). The long dead are very safe. (Of course, you don't want to ingest the dead, but that's another discussion.)
I have a feeling that recovering the bones of the dead may not be a priority, even if the cities don't get nasty with chemical waste. Determining who goes where will require DNA testing, and that's expensive and time consuming.

9. Welcome to the Crypt... |
|
Short but possibly informative anecdote...
My grandfather was born and spent his early years in New Orleans, and told the tale of a major flood during his youth, in which the caskets were literally uprooted and floated down the streets.
Anecdotal, mind you. But still.

10. Anecdotal? Seems more like reality to me.... |
|
I keep seeing those "prophecies" and reality merging....Seems to me that this is all a result of the "Faux Conservative movement", the fakes, destroying anything good left of our country.
Seems to me they also receive and ask for permanent retribution from the people, the powers that be, and our higher power whomever that is.
