4. You don't know what you are talking about.....
that boat was as safe a place as was available. I have relatives who have been riding these storms out on their boats for generations. These people know what they are doing when it comes to big storms and the water.

Don't be so judgemental.

6. Yes, a good-sized stable shrimp boat
with an experienced crew would probably be safer than in the middle of debris flying at 175 mph, roof collapsing, etc. The biggest danger of hurricanes is the flying debris, collapsing structures, floods -- none of which would be happening to them out there.

this is about survival. they did. good for them. now they have to go to their home and see if it survived. maybe living in that area they had information that it would be safer there than in their home. maybe not knowing shit, i will just say, cool they survived

7. A boat isn't necessarily a worse place than a house.
Boats float. Houses flood.

It all depends on the inshore geography, to what the boat is tied, and on how well the lines are protected from chafe.

8. They had said their house was wooden and not very strong. They
don't have very much money and they thought the boat was stronger then the house.
