Faux news just said Bush is thinking of giving oil from the nat. reserve
Said he was going to give a briefing or speech at 1 est. Thinking of opening up the oil reserves to help out the refineries.

I'm thinking this is all political.

4. And what would we do with crude oil?
It seems as if our refineries are sort of fucked right now.

5. To help the refiners, not the rest of us. Do you think they'll give us a
break on the cost? Hell fire no.

6. Isn't going to make much of a difference`
What with the NO port destroyed, and the refineries that go with it.

Face it folks, it won't be long and people will have to stop comparing our prices with those in Europe, we will be exceeding them. Glad I'm picking up that 100mpg scooter in Sept, I'll need it.

7. .....
Bush said today that he would bring down gasoline prices by creating enough political good will with oil-producing nations that they would increase their supply of crude. “I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply. Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot.” Implicit in his comments was a criticism of the Clinton administration as failing to take advantage of the good will that the US built with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf war in 1991. Also implicit was that as the son of the president who built the coalition that drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait, Mr. Bush would be able to establish ties on a personal level that would persuade oil-producing nations that they owed the US something in return.

9. It's the damage to the Gulf oil infrastructure that's gonna hurt
Additional crude doesn't help when you don't have the capability to refine it into product.

16. Lot of good that'll do since it's the refineries shutting down that really
affects the price of gas.

OOPS! I forgot, that will actually do a LOT of good, lining the pockets of his oil buddies while gas prices still go through the roof.
