Not to be "fearmongering", but... |

I think we will wake up a days or a week from now and find out that thousands of people are still "missing" from the hurricane. People are celebrating because they saw no death on tv. However, as a Floridian, this hurricane was the worst one I have ever seen, period. The storm surge and the resulting floods had the potential to kill thousands of people. This kind of thing doesn't happen in Florida because the east coast is fairly steep. The gulf coast is not.
That said, I hope and pray that they are all fine.

We might have some idea of the death toll this time tomorrow.

I am bothered by the " celebrating " of the msm stations that did 24 hour coverage and now are all done because it wasn't devastating enough. I do not think all reports are in and they should just wait. I just don't understand anymore.
I pray they are safe as well.

3. Damn...hope you're wrong. I stayed up most of the night watching the |

coverage, and was relieved to hear that NO had 'been spared' of the complete wrath that was envisioned. You have me worried again!

5. I Am Holding On To Hope |

I remember on 9-11, some were talking about how 50,000 people worked in the Trade Center and it took four hours to evacuate after the 1993 attack. Since the towers collapsed in far less time on 9-11, people were expecting a death toll in the tens of thousands.
But it wasn't.
That being said, I don't think it is time to celebrate just yet. And, also living in Florida and going through a few last year, it seems there are as many or more "indirect" deaths - injuries while trying to make repairs, improper use of genrators, stress on already weak or ill people, etc.
