6. I just saw a video of that
It was impressive to say the least. However, the bridge is still up so that is even more impressive.

There are reports of "catastrophic damage" but these have not been confirmed. They are between the Hurricane tot he north and the devastation to the south, east and west.

No St. Tammany news yet according to WDSU live feed just now.

Please post if you find out about West Avenue or Briar Lake Subdivision in Lacombe. I hope your brother is OK. We can't get in touch with my sister-in law or any cousins or our nephew.

19. Check out www.weather.com
There is a reporter who reported from Covington about an hour ago on www.weather.com From his report it appears there is only moderate damage due to trees falling. Although I have heard that closer to the lake, there was some flooding as well.

I think the worst went a little to the east of Covington/Bogalousa. Slidell got it bad from what I hear.

28. Just off the phone with my parents (Kenner evacuees in Vicksburg)
- All of Kenner has at least 3 feet of water, and deeper in many places.
- Kenner Regional Medical Center has standing water inside.
- East Jefferson General Hospital's middle atrium glass is shattered like crazy (this according to my Uncle Jim, a hospital engineer).
- Homes in Metairie north of West Esplanade are devastated by flood waters.
- Pumping system might come back on tomorrow for Jefferson Parish.
- The lakefront has tons of sailboats strewn-about like toys on the side of a tub.
- The front half of Target on Veterans Blvd in Metairie has collapsed.

My folks don't expect to be allowed back into Jefferson Parish until at least the weekend. I hope this info helps anyone a bit..
