Gas prices to go up a dollar tommorow morning. ?
Just got a call from a friend who said they were at the local Citgo in VA and the owner told them the price will be $1 higher in the morning.
They close at 9pm, so I'm going now to find out, and or fill up.

1. Citgo -- isn't that VENEZUELAN oil?
Wonder if it has anything to do with Pat R.'s little remarks ...

4. Is the gas station owner trying to price gouge on his own initiative?

5. No, I'm just thinking I heard that Citgo was a Venezuelan company
Or that Venezuela sells a majority of their oil to Citgo.

6. This Has All The Makings Of An Urban Myth...
I doubt gas prices will go up by more than a couple of cents....

Book this post if you doubt me...

9. I'm going to guess 20-30 cents, MAYBE
I'd say that anyone that jacks prices up a dollar overnight is definitely suspect of gouging (both unleaded cash and futures are only up around 20 cents since the end of last week).

gas prices to over $4/gallon on the afternoon of September 11...

7. Holy Cow!!
Just because of one lost day of pumping in the Gulf?!?

Well, I can't afford to fill up but I just put $8.90 in my van.

Thanks for the heads up.

11. So not 'just one day' of not pumping...
Try devastated rigs, it'll take a long time to get production up to pre-hurricane levels, not to mention any damage done to the LOOP. Reports I've heard coming from that area is that it's devastated.

12. I received no confirmation nor denial
The owner (Kenny) had gone, the cashier said there's no telling what will happen tomorrow.
Sorry I can't add anything other than there's no strong reason to believe it's true.
but filling up tonight, if there's room in the tank couldn't hurt either, i guess.
