I went to the anti-shurb protest in Rancho Cucomongo today.It was quite heated at times.


The rethugs were completly out of control (big surpirse there). When leaving, some lady took her flag and hit me in the face. I looked at her and said "typical violent republican. Using the flag to hit someone. Nice."

She says "I thought you were about peace and love."

I replied "You hit me, idiot." And I walked on my merry way.



When we first got there, while waiting at the corner where it was quiet, this one guy (I'm a tiny thing... 5'3" 115 maybe 120 pounds tops and this guy was huge and Hispanic - that's important later) he just gets in my face, screaming at me, calling me an idiot. LIttle did he know, but honey, I have taught in some of the worse neighborhoods, so some overweight 101st keyboard brigade member doesn't scare me. I asked him while bush hasn't attended any funerals yet. He was still cursing and screaming. I let himn know that the military was desperate, so much so that they'd even take him, so perhaps he should enlist. He got even madder then. I stood strong, but inside I thought he was going to hit me. A young Hispanic guy stood up and said the man needed to take a step away from me. The young HIspanic guy was holding a peace flag and a protest sign. The 101st keyboard brigade member told him to get his wetback ass back to Mexico. So, one Hispanic guy tells another to get back to Mexico. How dumb. The young guy said he'd never been to Mexico. We looked at the 101st member and said racist. Then he called us fags. So now, on top of being a chickenhawk and a racist, you're also a homophobic biggot? You're an excellent bush supporter.

The light changed and we walked away to him still cursing.

The young shrub-lovers that came by were asked why they didn't enlist. Their response? Usually the middle finger. They should be careful with that finger. They may need it to type. That's the important skill of the 101st keyboard brigade.

There was a 12 year old in full camoflague. They had a poster "Future soldier for bush." How long do these people plan to keep the little terrorist in office?

THe cops were so out of control. They had batons at us, wearing their face shields. The fascists were allowed to walk through us, doing whatever they wished. They arrested on of ours while she was crossing the street (apparents, she didn't make it acorss before the light changed.) It was crazy. They had guys driving trucks that had HUGE * signs constantly circling. I swear they had the same cars/trucks pass them time and again. It got to be funny after a while.

And yet, we were still louder and more truthful then they were.

The kicker. The real kicker was the two white guys driving a huge truck. Out of the passenger's window was an enormous American flag. The driver was driving and waving an equally large confederate flag. Then they parked and stood right out in front of the * crowd, with all the little shrubbie supporters cheering, their confederate flag. It was sickening.

I'm spoiled. I live in a very blue city, in a very blue county of a blue state. I work in a blue profession. I can literally go weeks without having toi knowingly speak to a rethug (since Mr kt and I avoid his parents like the plague.) I can't image what it must be like for those of you who have to constantly put up with that shit. My heart truly goes out to each and every one of you.

This is the guy (in the orange Tenessee hat) who came after me and got in my face. As the commentary reads below, the guy is really just a pathetic idiot.


INDYMEDIA COMMENTARY:

This guy was on the other side of the street with another two or three pro-war kooks. This guy was yelling at a Mexican standing there opposing the Bush fascism. He was yelling at the Mexican to go across the street since he's a wetback.

I asked this clown why he thought he was a wetback. He said, "because he told me he is." I asked him why he thought he should be on the other side of the street. I didn't get a rational answer. In fact I didn't get an answer.

I told the guy to lay off the Mexicans and told him, "Man, you really are a Republican, huh?" He started spewing something about Canada as I biked back to where the real Americans were, leaving the stench of contemporary Republicanism behind me.



Another observation from the day:

During the day, a woman marched her very young kids in front of us, cheering for the shrub. Her son, no more than 9, had on camoflague pants and was wearing dog tage. I asked if he'd enlisted since he was all decked out. She said yes. I asked if the military was so desperate, they're now taking 9 year olds. I asked if she was fine sending her child out to die for a rich man's gain. Then, a woman standing next to me, stepped forward. She introduced herself to the woman and told her she was from a war torn country. She asked the woman if she'd ever seen bombs explode? If she'd ever seen bombs kill children? The protesting woman from out side told her she'd seen all that and began describing it. Then, she asked the obviously confused mother if she wanted that to happen to her children, because sehing them over to Iraq was setting her children up to die. Naturally, the mother was angry and just stoped off.

Typical mindless rethug. How truly stupid are these people? And if they really are that stupid, I think we should all be concerned. Not just for the huge issues, but even the simple ones that require just a touch of common sense and a tad of forsight... such as looking before crossing the street.

I know the idiot has tunnel vision, but when he got out of his limo just a few feet away, although we couldn't see him, he had to have heard us. We were WAY TOO LOUD TO IGNORE!!!!!!!!
