At least five deaths in Gulf States from Katrina

AP) - Hurricane Katrina has proven deadly more than a hundred miles inland.

At least three people have died from the storm in Mississippi. Details are sketchy, but officials say the victims were killed more than 150 miles from the coast.

Along with two highway deaths in Alabama, that means at least five people have been killed by the storm after it came ashore in Louisiana.

The storm made landfall as a Category Four. It is still a Category One storm some eight hours after coming ashore.

1. And where is our illustrious leader?
At a Republican fund raiser at the Hotel Coronado in So. CA. If it weren't for all the protesters on the beach, I could almost wish for an earthquake and subsequent tidal wave. Just a little taste for him of what the gulf states have been through.

3. They were saying on CNN around 8:00 that there were bodies
floating in the streets. This is all just so devastating. :( At least the reporter on the scene had it right. She was saying that these were poor people, people who had no way of getting out...the sick...the elderly....:(
