should I forget it? The web says the hotel is closed (with many others) "until authorities tell us it is safe to reopen."

The hotel is on the corner (I think) of Common and Bourbon streets. On the map it looks like its not far from the Hyatt they are showing pics of.

Should I start making alternative plans?

problem is I'm going to Chicago after NO. I'm worried about paying a fortune to get a ticket to Chicago if I wait too long.

I think they would be the ones who would know the most, so you might want to check with them first.
