Is George Bush Really at a Fundraiser Tonight? >
Did you just hear correspondent Jean Meserve talking to Aaron Brown on CNN? She is distraught. She spent the day in a suburb of New Orleans. She said people are stranded, you can hear them calling for help in the dark but nobody can reach them yet. The reporter is in tears. She saw bodies in the water, dogs being electrocuted, people helpless, trying to escape through their roofs. She said the people most likely did not have cars or money to get into town to the Superdome. She said it is about five miles away. The storm passed, they thought they were okay, then the floods came and they scrambled to the attic or roof. Now they are stranded until daylight at least.

Is George Bush seriously at a fundraiser tonight? Did I hear that right?

What if the president rolled up his sleeves to actually work, not just pose?

The original of this photo has expired - did anybody save it?

17. I know ... it's so sad.

I was referring to Bush's return to Washington (from Crawford) during the whole Terry Schiavo fiasco. Apparently, one brain-dead woman was important enough for him to go back to work, but the devastation caused by Katrina is not. :eyes:

All he does is pose.

Never shall we forget this memorable pose:

Or how about this one:

And one time his handlers wish he'd remembered to pose:

13. Bush has no ability to empathize, only exploit cirumstances to his benefit
He does not attend funerals. He does not meet with mothers who lost sons in Iraq. He cuts all the programs for the poor, sick, needy, hungry, homeless, etc.

So you should not be surprised.

18. And yet, I am surprised.
I'm shocked and appalled. I thought he'd reconsider, or, someone with a brain would think better of it. I'll never learn.
